Passionate about Food
We use only the finest local ingredients which are put together by our expert team. We do fantastic bar food as well as delicious a la carte meals in our restaurant. In 2017 we were named as one of the Top 50 Gastropubs in the UK, and we were a finalist in the Somerset Life Food & Drink Awards 2017 as well as a finalist in the Muddy Stilettos 'Best Destination Pub' in Somerset 2018. We will also be providing the catering for Badminton Retreat.
Delicious, Local Produce
We are committed to offering the best dining experience on Exmoor. We make full use of the abundance of excellent local produce.
Exmoor lamb, Devon Red Ruby beef, fresh Cornish seafood, local venison and game all feature in the restaurant and provide real local flavour. We take classic dishes and give them a contemporary twist creating exciting menus with influences from around the world.
Lunchtimes are informal. Everyone, including families with children and dogs, are very welcome in the restaurant to enjoy a light meal or a hearty lunch. Those who’d like a simple coffee or one of our cream teas with homemade scones are welcome throughout the day.
During the evening, the menu takes on a more formal style while the atmosphere remains relaxed. We also offer an extensive and excellent wine list. Larger parties may like to eat in the Oak Room, our wonderful private dining area that has its own bar, an oval table seating up to 19 and sofas to relax on. Alternatively you can eat in the main bar which has lovely wooden booths for a cosy atmosphere.
Breakfast at Tarr Farm is a great way to begin the day; choose an extravagant full English, try our Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs or the warming cinnamon porridge with Exmoor honey, or enjoy a simple Continental style breakfast.
We also serve a wonderful ‘High Tea’.
